Vestry 2021

Friends,

We are thrilled to invite you to vestry, this year being held on Zoom, as required by the covid pandemic we've been living with these last months. Permission for Vestry meetings to take place on zoom was granted by the diocese.

To help us all become better acquainted with a different style of meeting, we wanted to provide some orientation to the dates of our meetings, how we will vote on items, and the nominating process.

Schedule:

• Pre-Vestry Meeting (NON-VOTING): Sunday, February 14th 2021
  Time: 12:00 PM on zoom
  
  
• Vestry 2021 (VOTING): Sunday, February 21st 2021
  Time: 12:00 PM on zoom

What will the voting look like?

•  Voting in the event of an election via Zoom
  If a vote on nominations is required, Once a vote is called, a pop out box will appear on your screen indicating a selection of names for election. select the name you're voting in favour of, and the results of the poll will be displayed right after everyone has had a chance to cast their vote.
  
  
• Voting on motions if you're joining via video call on Zoom
  Once a vote is called, please raise your hand in front of your camera so that we can record your vote.
  
  
• Voting on motions and elections If you're joining via phone or do not have access to a webcam
  Once a vote is called, we will call out for you by name and will record your vote accordingly.

What will nominating look like?

• Nominations ahead of the Vestry
  If you have the calling to share your time and talents, you're more than welcome to get in touch with our trustee and returning officer, Tim Cheek 
  
  
• Nominations from the floor on the day of Vestry
  All nominated candidates are required to be present at vestry for the formal acceptance of the nomination.

All vestry reports and financial documents will be circulated via the weekly email in the weeks preceding Vestry. We commend them to your reading as we celebrate the strength and vitality of our shared ministry together.

One of the greatest gifts of this community is how we gather to support one another in our ministries. We look forward to seeing you all on February 14 and 21 for our vestry meetings as we continue to grow our ministry together.

We will help orient everyone on the day to voting and zoom meeting norms, so please register to obtain the zoom details and plan to arrive at noon for more information.

We are here to help answer any questions you may have before then, and will send out further reminders of vestry to you as we approach the meetings dates.
